Mortar and rendering. Residents are permitted to dispose of small quantities of mortar and rendering at any of our recycling centres, in line with our DIY acceptance criteria (see below).. Larger scale DIY jobs, renovations or refurbishments are not minor repairs and waste generated by such projects are not accepted at recycling centres even if you carry them out yourself to your own home.

Ash. Ash is not accepted at any of our recycling centres. Once it has cooled down, put the ash from coal or wood fires into your waste wheeled bin instead. Small amounts of wood ash can be placed in your home compost bin.

Nottinghamshire residents are being encouraged to kickstart the new year by recycling right for charity. For every search carried out on the Recycling Checker in January, Veolia, Nottinghamshire County Council’s recycling and waste partner, will donate 10p to the NSPCC Nottinghamshire Hub, the UK’s children’s charity, with a commitment to contribute up to £1,000.
