Family health and wellbeing
We can also help you to find help with drugs or alcohol use, sexual health and contraception, vaccinations many more health issues. Just ask us and we will get you connected to the right service. If you need support to improve your family’s health and wellbeing please contact your local family hub team or complete the Request for Service form .
Education and learning
We also work with childcare settings, providing exciting Forest Schools activities. We know that lots of parents worry about their child’s speech, language and communication skills. Working closely with the Healthy Families Team we are able to support young children through Little Talkers Groups and the Home Talk programme (delivered by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust).

More quality childcare places created in Nottinghamshire
The creation of new childcare places is a key focus of the work to implement childcare reforms announced in March 2023 to offer eligible working families 30 hours of funded Early Years childcare a week by September 2025 and wraparound childcare from 8am to 6pm around the primary school day by September 2026.
Campaign for early years funding for two-year-olds
As part of the campaign, the county council has produced postcards and posters to highlight the offer for 15 hours funded early education childcare for two-year-olds. It will also be speaking with its network of early years settings, health visitors and children’s centres to promote the message.

Wraparound childcare provides care outside of regular school hours and is aimed at helping parents to access more childcare and to work the hours they want to. The council’s funding is to be allocated to childcare providers over the next two years to expand the number of places available in areas where there is demand for more places.
